QUAKERS IN NORTH AND WEST CUMBRIA

Carlisle Local Quaker Meeting
North Cumbria Area Meeting
Cumberland General Meeting

We are trustees of a long tradition which has sought to bring our religious convictions into the world 'and so to excite our endeavours to mend it'. We are trying to live in the virtue of that life and power that takes away the occasion of all wars.

London Yearly Meeting, 1987

There is a Quaker Meeting in Carlisle and visitors are always welcome. The Meeting House is situated at the bottom of Fisher Street, opposite Carlisle Castle and close to the centre of the City. There is limited parking at the Meeting House but there are several public car parks.

Meeting for Worship takes place every Sunday morning to which all are welcome, not only members but anyone who wishes to enjoy the quiet of a Quaker meeting. Enquirers are also welcome; their questions will be answered but there will be no pressure to take the connection further.
