QUAKERS IN NORTH AND WEST CUMBRIA

Mosedale Local Quaker Meeting

North Cumbria Area Quaker Meeting

Love silence, even in the mind . . . True silence is the rest of the mind; and is to the spirit, what sleep is to the body, nourishment and refreshment.

William Penn, 1699

Mosedale

There is a Quaker Meeting in Mosedale Meeting House every Sunday from April to October and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays from November to March. Meetings now start at 10.30 am.

Our Meeting House is situated in the hamlet of Mosedale on the NE edge of the Northern Fells of the Lake District. Mosedale nestles at the foot of Carrock Fell at the entrance to the secluded valley of the River Caldew. It is reached by a minor road linking the A66 to the villages of Mungrisdale and Hesket Newmarket.

Visitors are welcome, not only members of other meetings but anyone who wishes to enjoy the quiet of a small Quaker Meeting in tranquil surroundings. Enquirers are no less welcome; their questions will be answered but they will not be pressed unduly to take the connection further.
